Corbin Collins, Writer

Corbin’s education and career has run along two tracks, one more akin to spin and the other reason. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa in English from UC Berkeley, where he learned to write with flair, and went on to Berkeley’s graduate school in philosophy, where he mastered the intricacies of extended argument. After receiving his Ph.D, he taught at the university level for five years, and his courses included Critical Reason. He also published articles in highly regarded academic journals. Corbin then joined MDL Information Systems as its chief writer and was later appointed head of media relations. In 1997, he became an independent contractor and has since worked for major high-tech, pharmaceutical, and public relations companies such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Agilent Technologies, Philips Semiconductors, Becton Dickinson, MDS Pharma Services, and Weber Shandwick. With over 20-years experience, he has written, researched, and edited almost every type of business copy, as well as op-eds, articles, and speeches about social and political issues. Two of his screenplays have been optioned by production companies, and one of these earned him a fellowship to Robert Redford’s Screenwriting Workshop at the Sundance Institute. He lives in Berkeley, and as an alum and former UC assistant professor, he has unique access to resources and experts at one of the world’s foremost universities.
